Checklist to go through at the bedside every time you review a surgical patient (MOST WIND)

• M - Medication chart
   
• O - Observations
   
• S - Skin integrity (e.g., bed sores)
   
• T - Tubes (e.g., integrity and need for cannula, urinary catheter, drain tubes etc.)
   

• W - Wound
   
• I - IV fluids (e.g., need for and water overload with low sodium)
   
• N - Nutritional state (eating and drinking)
   
• D - DVT prophylaxis (see RACS guidelines)
